Here is another trilogy of books on "The Way". The first deals with "the Way of Tea", or sado, as developed by Sen no Rikyu in the late sixteenth century, according to the theory that he was influenced by his experience of the ceremony of the Mass as offered by the Jesuit missionaries of his time. Accordingly, the author draws a parallel between the two ceremonies of Tea and the Mass, while noting a similar parallel with the English ceremony (as developed under Queen Victoria) of afternoon tea.
